Our principal and staff
Our school team is committed to every student’s learning, wellbeing and sense of belonging. We work together to create a supportive and inclusive school where every child is set up for success.
Welcome from our principal
Oakville Public School is a welcoming school community situated on the traditional land of the Dharug people. We acknowledge and pay respect to the Gadigal elders past and present and recognise the profound importance of Country to all of us in building a strong community and fostering a deep sense of connection, belonging and wellbeing for every member of our school community.
Our commitment and guiding principles place children first, uphold high expectations across all domains, nurture a community of trust and prioritise social and emotional wellbeing. Through these values, Oakville Public School aims to strengthen our school community, maintain excellence in education and ensure every student flourishes in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
Our school offers a nurturing environment where every student is supported and encouraged to thrive. Our vibrant, air-conditioned classrooms are set within a picturesque, semi-rural setting that fosters a happy and safe atmosphere, where each child’s individuality is recognised and embraced.
We believe happiness grows through helping others, and this spirit of kindness is a cornerstone of our school community. Our students are encouraged to support one another and contribute positively, fostering a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.
As a co-educational public school, we provide a high-quality education aligned with the goals of the NSW Plan for Public Education. We cater for all students, including those identified as High Potential and Gifted Learners, through differentiated and personalised learning programs.
Our strong academic, sporting, creative and performing arts programs nurture excellence and the development of well-rounded individuals. Our diverse curriculum and wide-ranging extracurricular opportunities reflect our commitment to equity, inclusion and personalised learning.
Dedicated and experienced staff foster a culture of high expectations and continuous growth, encouraging every student to strive for success. At Oakville Public School, our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) values guide all that we do. We encourage students to own their behaviour, show pride in everything they do and strive for success. These values create a positive environment where students are empowered to act responsibly, persevere and have pride in their achievements.
Strong relationships, effective communication and well-being programs ensure students feel understood and empowered. Our clear discipline policies and uniform code support a safe, orderly and respectful learning environment.
Students at Oakville consistently demonstrate strong academic results, reflecting the rigour and quality of our programs. Our modern facilities, including computer labs, interactive whiteboards, and extensive digital tools equip students with 21st-century skills vital for lifelong learning and active participation in the community.
Set in beautiful, leafy surrounds, our excellent grounds and facilities enrich the student experience. We warmly welcome and value partnerships with parents and the wider community, recognising their vital role in student success and well-being.
We understand that starting school is an important milestone, and we are committed to working collaboratively with parents to build on the foundation established at home. Together, we create an inclusive, inspiring environment where all children can realise their full potential as confident, creative and connected learners.
We look forward to partnering with you at Oakville Public School as we strive towards the shared commitment to quality, equity and excellence in NSW public education.
